Nursing Director
Mrs Lydia Botha |
Beginning of June a new member of the Hospital Commissioning Team, Mrs Lydia Botha, has arrived in Benghazi. After the opening of the hospital she will as Nursing Director provide professional leadership to the LEH's nursing staff. Substantial part of her contribution is to ensure highest possible standards of nursing practice throughout the hospital focusing on the care given to the patients. This includes her responsibility for the monitoring and evaluation of operations, programs and processes for quality and effectiveness as well as continuous nurse education in order to enhance excellence of care and professional capabilities of the nursing staff.
Mrs Botha has a professional background of more than 30 years of working knowledge in the fields of general nursing Science, midwifery, nursing education and administration. She has worked in several large private hospitals in her home country South Africa holding the position of Nursing Director. Internationally, Mrs Botha was Head of Nursing in highly renowned clinics in Saudi Arabia from 2004 until 2008. |

Hospital Director
Dr. Hans-Peter Hummel |
We would like to welcome Dr. Hans Peter Hummel who is as of April in charge of the current Commissioning and afterwards for the Management of the Libyan European Hospital. Dr. Hummel is of German Nationality and holds a PhD in Economics and Politics with further studies in Management and Marketing. As a Senior Expert Health Care Consultant he disposes of more than 25 years of international working experience especially in countries with Islamic cultural background. Besides various teaching appointment as an associate professor his professional assignments include the successful management of private hospitals in Kuwait and Malaysia.
Dr. Hummel's responsibilities will cover the development of a culture of performance and commitment to quality throughout the LEH as a centre of excellence in Libya. He will manage the medical, paramedical and administrative staff in terms of strategic, operational and financial decisions. Main focus will lay on "costumer focused" leadership to patients and their relatives and on a successful external accreditation of the Libyan European Hospital. |

The structure of the main building complex is moving forward, and we have finished all the structural work on the block A and B, including the elevator shaft to serve the new helipad which will be located on the roof.
Our Mechanical and Electrical company and the responsible subcontractors for the interior works and exterior finishing have established them self on site, moving forward with the construction process. |

We were very pleased to have the LIBYAN FOREIGN INVESTMENT BOARD (LFIB) visit our project, and on that ocassion, the picture below was taken.
Our project is a foreign investment in Libya, and therefore, we were very pleased to have the contribution and assistance of the (LFIB), in helping us with the development of our project.
When you invest in Libya, the (LFIB) is dedicated to help and guide you through.
The laws are very clear and well explained, and our project follows law No 5 -1997, ammended by law No 7- 2003.
